Recently, the "Tai'an Special Construction Steel Project for Transforming Old and New Growth Drivers—Complete Continuous Rolling High-Strength Profile Production Line Supporting Plastic-Burned Plate Dust Removal System," constructed by Ruilong Environmental Protection, successfully passed the completion acceptance and has officially been put into operation.
Project Overview: Building an Eco-Friendly Dust Removal System to High Standards
This project involves the construction of a large-scale plastic-burned plate dust removal system as a supporting facility for a newly built, fully continuous high-strength profile production line. The system is designed with a total air handling capacity of 400,000 m³/h and is primarily used to treat large quantities of pollutants—including iron oxide dust, oil mist, and water vapor—generated during the production processes of the roughing and finishing rolling mills. The system comprises the dust collector body, fan system, ash conveying system, pipeline network, and a fully automatic control system, enabling intelligent, end-to-end control—from dust capture and purification to emission discharge—and ensuring both high dust removal efficiency and operational stability.
Technical Highlight: The Outstanding Performance of the Plastic-Burned Plate Dust Removal System
1 Ultra-low emissions, exceeding national standards.
The system employs enhanced PTFE-coated sintered plates with oleophobic and hydrophobic properties, enabling efficient capture of fine particulate dust. According to third-party testing, the outlet emission concentration remains stable at ≤5 mg/Nm³—far below the limit requirement of 20 mg/Nm³ stipulated in the "Emission Standard for Air Pollutants from Steel Rolling Industry" (GB28665-2012).
2. Highly reliable design for long service life
The sintered plate has a service life of ≥10 years, and the pulse valve is capable of continuous operation for 1 million cycles.
The equipment has a pressure resistance of -8000 Pa and a leakage rate of ≤2%, featuring excellent air tightness and structural strength.
The system is equipped with an online dust-cleaning function and a dual-control mode featuring differential pressure plus timed operation, enabling intelligent operation.
3 Anti-condensation and Freeze-Proof Design
For the low-temperature and high-humidity operating conditions typical of northern winters, the system is equipped with features such as steam tracing, pipeline slope drainage, and cyclonic dehydrators, which effectively prevent condensation and dust buildup, ensuring stable system operation throughout the year.
4 Movable dust collection hood
To enhance the efficiency of mill replacement and optimize the adaptability of the dust collection system, a movable dust-collection hood has been designed for the upper part of the flat-rolling mill. This device is mounted above the mill via a rail system and can be flexibly moved axially or laterally during mill changes, thereby creating ample operational space and completely eliminating the cumbersome process required by conventional fixed collection hoods, which necessitate disassembly. This design not only significantly reduces downtime during mill replacement and maintenance but also minimizes the impact of repeated disassembly and reassembly on the structural integrity of the dust collection system. Meanwhile, after being reset, the movable hood continues to maintain precise alignment with the rolling zone, ensuring highly efficient dust capture and effectively integrating production continuity, operational convenience, and environmental performance.
5 Intelligent Control System
The system integrates a DCS automated control platform equipped with features such as remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, and data traceability. Critical parameters are uploaded to the central dispatch system in real time, enabling an operational mode characterized by “unattended operation with occasional human inspections.”
Completion acceptance: Strict testing, comprehensive compliance.
Through a variety of methods—including on-site investigations, document reviews, and functional tests—of the supporting plastic-burner dust collector system for the continuous rolling high-strength profile production line, the expert panel conducted a comprehensive and meticulous examination of the project’s quality, performance, and safety. All performance indicators met or exceeded the design requirements. The panel unanimously concluded that the system features advanced technology, operates reliably, and is fully ready for formal commissioning.
