Introduction to the Steel Rolling Heating Furnace Flue Gas Desulfurization Retrofit Project
This project is a EPC general contracting project The desulfurization of waste gas from bar heating furnaces and strip heating furnaces is combined, sharing one set of desulfurization facilities, designed according to the maximum single-unit flue gas volume 。
This project includes at least the process, civil works, steel structure, fire protection, equipment, water supply and drainage, heat, corrosion protection, insulation, lighting, lightning protection grounding, heating, ventilation, instrumentation, control, flue gas monitoring, television monitoring, communication, and other overall design, supply, inspection, testing, construction, commissioning, special equipment inspection, special pipeline inspection, project handover, and technical training for the client's personnel related to this project.
During the project construction, we faced challenges such as the complex composition of flue gas from steel rolling heating furnaces and the difficulty of treatment. We adopted a “ calcium-based dry desulfurization + bag dust removal ” process route to create a highly efficient and stable desulfurization system. This system achieves deep removal of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide by generating solid calcium sulfate, far exceeding national standards, providing the industry with a replicable and promotable environmental protection technology model.

Dry desulfurization technology, with its simple process and strong adaptability, is widely used in the steel, coal-fired, and garbage incineration industries. Automatic Detection Interlocking Feeding: Intelligent Control Improves Efficiency
🔵 Real-time Monitoring and Feedback
Real-time monitoring of inlet SO₂ concentration, flue gas volume, temperature, and other parameters is achieved through online flue gas analyzers (such as SO₂, O₂ sensors), and the data is fed back to the central control system to dynamically adjust the desulfurizing agent addition, achieving precise feeding and avoiding excess or deficiency.
🔵 Interlocking Logic Control
The system is linked with the main production line (such as boiler load, production facility load). According to the changes in operating conditions, the desulfurization equipment is automatically started, stopped, or adjusted to ensure that emissions meet standards while achieving automated management and unmanned operation.

In the treatment of flue gas from heating furnaces or hot blast stoves, when the SO₂ concentration suddenly increases, the system can automatically trigger an increase in the addition of desulfurizing agent and optimize the addition model through historical data to reduce operating costs.
Precise Powder Spraying: Efficient Reaction and Resource Saving
🔵 Multi-nozzle Collaborative Spraying
High-speed airflow nozzles are used, combined with CFD simulation to optimize the spray gun layout, ensuring that the desulfurizing agent (such as baking soda, Ca(OH)₂) is evenly distributed in the flue, covering the entire flue gas cross-section.
🔵 Particle Size and Residence Time Control
The powder spraying system can adjust the particle size of the desulfurizing agent (usually 20-50μm), increasing the specific surface area, and at the same time, extending the reaction time through flue design to allow SO₂ to fully contact with the desulfurizing agent, with an efficiency of over 90%.
🔵 Energy Saving and Emission Reduction
Precise powder spraying reduces waste of desulfurizing agent and produces no wastewater.

🔵 Strong adaptability: It can handle high concentrations of SO₂ (such as sintering flue gas SO₂ fluctuation range 500-4000mg/m³), and the temperature requirements for flue gas are relaxed (it can operate at 80-260℃).

The dust collector uses a fully automatic intelligent management system, including motor operation and protection, ash conveying operation and protection, and ash cleaning operation and protection. The control system is reasonably configured according to the structural layout of the dust collector. The central control uses a DCS plus host computer, and the field uses a remote station or switch quantity control box to realize free conversion between manual and automatic operation, making maintenance convenient and saving energy and reducing costs.

Pulse Dust Collector Air Source Treatment
Pulse jet cleaning is a relatively ideal and effective cleaning method, which can eliminate the adverse effects caused by the "high resistance syndrome" of the dust collector. However, domestic similar dust collectors often neglect the treatment of the air source during use, leading to adverse consequences such as bag condensation, agglomeration, and bag burning. Solving bag condensation is one of the difficulties of pulse dust collectors. This is because condensation is formed from two aspects:
The air source contains a large amount of water and oil, which is more likely to cause agglomeration, especially in summer;
The cold air flow from the air source and the hot air flow inside the bag form a temperature difference, which is easy to cause condensation, especially on rainy days with high air humidity.
Therefore, it is necessary to treat the air source for these two problems.

For safety and reliability, a freeze dryer and a heating section can be used together ( Owner's option ). The air tank first filters out the supersaturated water and dirt from the air source.
