Dust Collector Overview
A dust collector is a device used to separate dust particles from flue gas, and it is also referred to as a dust removal equipment.
Dust removal according to its Principle of operation Divided into the following three categories:
(1) Filter-type dust collectors include baghouse dust collectors, cartridge dust collectors, and sintered-plastic plate dust collectors, among others.
(2) Electrostatic precipitator.
(3) Gravity dust collector.
Dust collectors according to Dust Removal Methods Divided into:
(1) Dry dust collector.
(2) Semi-dry dust collector.
(3) Wet dust collector.
Applications of Dust Collector Products : Widely used in woodworking shops, paint shops, sanding workshops, battery production facilities, chemical plants, as well as dusty environments such as cement factories, coal mines, and the power industry.
Note: This time, the focus is primarily on pulse-jet bag filters.

The structure of the dust collector
The dust collector consists of Box body 、 Filter bag (With frame), Ash Removal Device , Ash hopper And Ash Removal Device Consisting of.
The inside of the dust collector is Ceiling panel Divided into two parts. The upper part is called Upper box body Or Cleanroom . The following section is referred to as Bag chamber Or Filter Chamber 。
Cleanroom The cleanroom is equipped with blow pipes, compressed air tanks, pulse valves, compressed air pipelines, outlet ducts, inspection doors, and more. Depending on the specific specifications, the cleanroom is divided into several individual chambers, separated from one another by steel plates that ensure no airflow between them. Each chamber features a lifting valve and multiple rows of filter bags, with each row of bags connected to a dedicated blow pipe. Notably, every single filter bag aligns precisely with a blow hole on its corresponding blow pipe.
Filter Chamber The filter chamber includes the ceiling plate, filter bag assembly, ash hopper, flue gas inlet duct, and more.
The filter bag material is a flexible, breathable medium, typically made of needle-punched or coated materials.
The filter bags are supported by a metal cage frame to ensure they don’t collapse during filtration. The filter bag and cage frame, functioning as a single unit, are suspended from the ceiling plate.
A dust hopper is installed beneath the filter chamber, and it also typically serves as the inlet for flue gas.
The deflector plates in the ash hopper are designed to absorb the kinetic energy of high-speed particles in the inlet flue gas and evenly distribute the incoming airflow, protecting the filter bags from abrasion while ensuring uniform loading across all bags.
Electronically controlled device: Located at the outlet of the ash hopper. Includes an ash discharge valve, screw conveyor, conveying chute, or pneumatic ash handling system.
Dust Filter Bag Replacement :
1. Cut off the compressed air to the chamber
2. Open the lid of the top housing and remove the blowpipe.
3. Inspect and replace the filter bags—carefully remove the frames one by one, take out any damaged bags, install new ones in their place, and then reposition the frames.
4. After the replacement is complete, install the blowpipe and secure the lid.

The working principle of a dust collector
Filtration Principle Dust-laden gas enters through the air inlet and, as it flows past the dust hopper, larger particles are separated out due to inertia and gravity, falling directly to the bottom of the hopper. After passing through the hopper, the dusty gas moves into the filtration zone inside the casing, where it passes through the filter bags. The dust is trapped on the outer surface of the bags, while the cleaned gas escapes through the bag openings, enters the upper casing, and is finally discharged via the outlet vent.
Ash Removal Principle : The resistance of the dust collector increases as the thickness of the dust layer on the filter bags grows. When this resistance reaches a specified value, the pulse control system activates the pulse valves, releasing compressed air from the air reservoirs. This high-pressure air is directed through the pulse valves and then ejected via tiny nozzles on the blowpipe, creating a high-speed, high-pressure jet of inducing airflow that forms an induced airflow several times larger in volume than the original jet. Together, these powerful flows surge into the filter bags, instantly generating positive pressure inside and causing the bags to expand rapidly. As a result, the dust deposited on the outer surfaces of the filter bags is dislodged and falls into the dust hopper, effectively achieving the purpose of cleaning the filters.
Ash Removal Control Method
The ash-cleaning control method typically employs Timing Method , or alternatively adopt Fixed-resistance method 。
Timing Method That is, performing chamber-by-chamber dust cleaning according to the pre-set time sequence.
Fixed-resistance method That is, based on the control of the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the filter bags, the signal sent by the differential pressure transmitter is processed by an electrical control device, which then carries out chamber-by-chamber dust cleaning according to a predefined sequence.

Dust Collector's Ash Discharge Process
Dust Collection: Dust captured during filtration and ash-cleaning processes settles into the dust hopper, from which it is then discharged collectively through the hopper outlet.

Application Industries
Choose one of the two options
Baghouse dust collectors are found in nearly every industrial sector, such as:
Steel Industry: Flue gas purification for blast furnaces, converters, electric furnaces, sintering machines, and coke ovens.
Cement Industry: Dust Removal from Kiln Heads, Kiln Ends, Clinker Coolers, and Cement Mills.
Power Industry: Flue Gas Dust Removal from Coal-Fired Boilers (in conjunction with desulfurization systems).
Non-ferrous metal smelting: Recovery of fumes and dust generated during the smelting processes of copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, and more.
Dust control in industries such as chemical engineering, machinery, food processing, and wood processing.
